Patch to the PSF, PsfTooling, and TMEditX for Windows 10

Last week I posted on social media about an issue we ran into in our current training class.  The issue was preventing apps that included the PSF from working on certain Windows 10 operating systems.

The problem has been identified and fixed, resulting in a slew of releases:

  • PSF version v2024.06.07 of the TimMangan fork of the Package Support Framework.
  • PsfTooling version 6.10.0.0, available from the TMurgent website and Microsoft Store.
  • TMEditX version 4.1.1, available from the TMurgent website.

Unless you have migrated fully to Windows 11, it is recommended that you upgrade your tools.  Even if you haven’t experienced the issue on Windows 10, you might on some of your systems.

I did not try to determine if the problem exists on server OSs used in RDS, but it was likely a possible issue there, although less likely that other software installed on the server would not have already upgraded the OS component.
