Tim Mangan today publishes an e-book today for the Microsoft App-V Community. “App-V OSD Reference Book” is an unofficial reference manual for the OSD syntax used by App-V.For years, his online tool “The OSD Illustrated” has been the best reference to this XML based syntax. Now Tim has formally written the missing reference guide to the syntax. As part of writing the book, Tim even “discovered” a new sequencing trick that is revealed in the book.
The book is published in the popular epub format, which should make it available on iPad, PCs, and Macs, as well as most of the other e-readers, possibly except the Kindle. |

Perhaps I’m missing something but I don’t see this listed anywhere in the book. Instead it appears to just be the Illustrated OSD, in non interactive text form.
Look at the bottom of shellcommand. App-V doesn’t have to write over the native FTA but can add to it if you want to do the work.
Could you please make it possible to buy a pdf-edition of this book?
I don’t have an iPhone and hate to install the Adobe Digital Editions on my pc. I know ebooks are popular in the US, but here they aren’t and in my opinion will never be because of the hassle to use them.
To end with a positive note: I find the price of this ebook very good, too cheap almost.
Sander,
You don’t need Adobe Digital Editions. I am working with Lulu to try to get that removed from the details page. Originally I intended to protect the content with ADE, however I found this meant it would not be readable on iPad and many other devices. Somehow the info got stuck on the details page which I don’t control – but you do not need to install ADE or Stanza. Any reader that accepts ePub will do (except kindle). My favorite for the PC is Calibre.
bought, downloaded, looks nice. Thanks….
